Everest Region (Khumbu)

The Khumbu is Nepal’s most famous trekking region, anchored by Mount Everest (8,849m) and the Sherpa capital of Namche Bazaar. Trails wind through Sagarmatha National Park past Tengboche Monastery, Dingboche and Gorak Shep before reaching Everest Base Camp and, for many, the summit of Kala Patthar for the classic sunrise view of Everest itself.

Most treks fly into Lukla, the region’s mountain airstrip, and take 12–16 days round trip depending on the route and acclimatization schedule.
