Langtang Region

Just north of Kathmandu, Langtang offers high-mountain scenery without the crowds of the more famous regions. The Langtang Valley trek passes through forests of oak and bamboo, Tamang villages, and the Kyanjin Gompa monastery beneath Langtang Lirung (7,227m). It’s often paired with a side trip to Gosaikunda’s sacred alpine lakes.
